Last weekend we went down to Live Oak Florida for our 5th Magnolia Festival. It was lots of fun! My favorite show was Toots and the Maytals, it was absolutely AMAZING! There was so much energy at that show. Railroad Earth and The Emmitt Nershi Band were really great as well. We did, however, have a few mishaps.... First we left our campsite to go see a show and our chairs got knocked into the embers of the fire, when we got back my chair was completely gone and the arm of Robbie's chair was burned away as well. Nate was asleep in his tent only feet away the whole time, good thing the wind wasn't blowing! We also got a flat tire and had to drive to the local Wal-Mart to get it replaced. Ian also lost his car keys and it cost him 250 dollars to get new ones made when we got back in town.
Nate and Ian were pretty cramped in the backseat of the car. Doesn't look very comfortable.
This is how we found Nate when we returned to the remains of the the great Magfest fire of 2007. Later he admitted that he did "smell melting plastic" but just rolled over and went back to sleep. Thanks Nate.
Ian makes grilled cheeses for all of us on the camping grill we USED to have before Ian fell on it and broke it.

Robbie saves the day!!!
All-in-all it was a great weekend!

Festival Maddness
Various festival moments from various years...
Car packed and ready to go. Our trusted navigator at the helm, and we are on our way
Now that, my friends, is a beard!
Relaxing in the back of the car on the air mattress.
Walking to the show in the intense heat of the afternoon
At the venue, and yes that man is wearing a cape.
Robbie and Nate cool off in the lake at Wakarusa.
Relaxing before the shows, Robbie may be annoyed that I couldn't put my book down (it was one of the last two books from Orson Scott Cards "Homecoming" series, check it out!)
In our hammock at one of the festivals at Spirit of the Suwanee
OOOOOOOHHHHH, creepy "ORBS"
Main stage of Spirit of the Suwanee, during MagFest. This is clearly Oteil, Susan Tedeski, and Derek Trucks.

Gearing up for MagFest- 3rd weekend in October!
Okay, so it's ten weeks away, but I can't wait!! You have to have SOMETHING to look forward to when you are studying for the GRE. Below are picture of the signs of the fence around the main stage, which, by the way, is surrounded by gigantic trees that are PERFECT for setting up your hammock!!

Check out the link!! Railroad Earth, Oteil and the Peacemakers, Col. Bruce and his new band, the Quark Alliance, Toots and the Maytals, Blueground Undergrass, and many more!!

The beauty of West Virginia
West Virginia was a beautiful state, full of mountains and thick forest.
A view from our campsite
Another rainbow
A man set these little rock castles up all along the road up to the stage.

All Good
We got to our campsite at 2:30 in the morning, after waiting in line for over two hours
This sign was supposed to greet us...we didn't get to see it until the next day.
The entrance to the stage area, right before Keller and the Keels began. Bob Weir also played at this show.
A look at the camping area
The trek back to the campsite
